Secure Access on Mac (Automatic Configuration) This guide helps you configure iTeleport with encryption, for secure access to your Mac. Before you start, make sure you meet the following requirements:
- Your user account on your Mac has a password. If not, please create a secure password for your account from System Preferences > Accounts.
- You have previously configured and connected to your computer using iTeleport Connect
Once you're sure you meet the above requirements, please follow these steps to enable secure access:
-
Go to System Preferences > Sharing

-
Enable Remote Login, and if you're using Leopard, enable the "Only these users" option, and add your account.

- Make sure you are running the latest version of iTeleport Connect.
-
Click on the iTeleport Connect statusbar icon and then Show iTeleport Connect.
-
Click Disconnect, and then enable the Show Settings option, and then enable the Encryption option. Finally, click Connect.
-
In a few seconds, iTeleport Connect should be Connected. At that point, make sure you're signed into iTeleport on your iPhone, and tap the blue arrow icon next to your computer name, then tap Security > Encryption.
- Encryption should already be enabled. Just type in your SSH username and SSH Password, which is the same as the password you set in your Mac account (not your VNC password).
- Tap Connect. This should work both from the local network and from 3G/EDGE or a different WiFi network, just like before, and your connection is now completely encrypted and secure.
