Running iTeleport
-
Launch iTeleport on your iPhone or iPod touch.
-
In the Internet tab, enter your Google credentials and sign in. Your Mac should automatically appear online.
Tap the blue button to go to server settings, or tap the Mac name (e.g. iTeleportMac) to try to connect immediately.
-
You cannot connect immediately since iTeleport needs the VNC password for your server.
-
Tap the password box and enter the secure password you chose in Step 1 when setting up Screen Sharing / Vine Server on your Mac.
-
If you're running Tiger (OS 10.4) and getting a black screen when you connect, tap the blue arrow button, then go to Advanced, and Colors, and set it to "Server Decides".
-
Tap your Mac to connect to your computer.
If you are running Leopard (OS 10.5) or Snow Leopard (OS 10.6), a screen sharing icon will appear in your menu bar when a successful connection has been made.
If you are able to see your Mac desktop on your iPhone after a few seconds, you’ve connected successfully.
Now that you’ve completed the set up, learn about iTeleport's controls.
You can also configure your Mac to enable screen zoom -- you can then zoom in and out of the Mac screen with a pinch gesture when the Show Screen option is off.
